When will the fam trip take place?
Departure from London/Frankfurt is on 24 April and participants will arrive back to London/Frankfurt on 4 May. The trip will cover 7 full days on the ground in New Zealand.
Who can apply for this fam trip and how many seats are available?
There are 12 seats available for travel sellers based in the UK and 12 seats for travel sellers based in Germany. All participants need to work as travel sellers in full-time employment at the time of the fam trip.
How can I apply for a seat on the fam trip?
Fill in our application form(opens in new window) for this fam trip and confirm that you agree to our requirements of signing up for our trade newsletter, completing 10 online modules in our specialist programme before the trip (in case you are selected) and complete our post-fam trip measurement surveys.
When do applications close and when will I find out whether I'm going to New Zealand?
Applications close at 5pm GMT on 15 December 2023. The 24 selected participants will be informed in mid-January.
How are the participants selected?
We will hand-select the 24 participants based on the quality of their applications, their suitability to selling New Zealand holidays and the potential for this trip to help increase their confidence and ability to sell more New Zealand holidays. Where applicable, Tourism New Zealand may contact an applicant’s company (travel agency / tour operator) to discuss the above. This is not a raffle and participants will not be drawn at random.
What airline would I be flying with?
Our airline partner for this fam trip is Air New Zealand. Flights leave from London Heathrow for all participants from the UK and from Frankfurt for all participants from Germany. Air New Zealand will partner with a codeshare partner from Heathrow and Frankfurt. All flights are in Economy Class. Transport to/from departure airports is not included.
Which regions in New Zealand would I visit on this fam trip?
The fam trip will comprise of three different itineraries, all with a different theme (you can select your preferred option when filling in the application form). All itineraries will feature experiences on both of New Zealand's main islands.
If invited to join this fam trip, is it guaranteed that I will travel on my preferred itinerary?
While we will try our best to accommodate your preference, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to travel on your preferred itinerary option. Agents, who select 100% Pure New Zealand Luxury as their first choice, might be asked to provide further information before being confirmed (e.g. whether they belong to any luxury network such as Virtuoso, Serandipians by Traveller Made etc.)
