Indulge in a round of golf at some of New Zealand’s premier courses, designed to challenge and enjoy in stunning landscapes.  Off the green, enjoy quality New Zealand food and wine and for the really keen golfer, luxury accommodation within view of the course.  

To ensure your clients are well rested after their flight, we recommend they stay a night or two in their arrival city before collecting a rental vehicle. Driving in a new country can be challenging and will be even worse if the driver is tired. The driver should always be well rested, take regular breaks during the journey and plan to drive for only 1-2 hours at a time.
New Zealand has unique road rules and driving conditions that your clients may not be used to. For a safe and enjoyable journey make sure your clients know where to find information on New Zealand’s road rules before they depart for their holiday.
Here are some suggestions:
  • Day 1: Auckland, Kerikeri and Paihia

    Drive Fly 2 hours and 17 minutes 265 KMS 164 MI

    Fly, drive or for the ultimate luxury take a fully chauffeured private tour.

    • Option 1: Arrive Auckland then fly up to Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands.  Take a private transfer or pick up a rental car from Auckland Airport and drive to Paihia. The drive will take approximately 4 hours from Auckland Airport.
    • Option 2: Arrive Auckland and fly direct into Kauri Cliffs by helicopter in around an hour.  

    Recommended activities:

    Paihia is a great place to enjoy the great outdoors and discover New Zealand history and culture at the same time:
    • Visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, just 5km from Paihia, where New Zealand’s founding document of nationhood was signed
    • Explore the scenic historic town of Russell and enjoy fresh local foods, and quality New Zealand made crafts
    • Head out on the water with a relaxing cruise to the spectacular natural formation, the Hole in the Rock
    • Try your luck big game fishing from December to June
    • Learn more about New Zealand’s unique Maori culture against stunning scenery by paddling in a waka (canoe) with Maori guides
    • Go swimming with dolphins

    Where to Stay

    Stay in Paihia, Waitangi or Russell which offer accommodation for every budget and taste including B&Bs, luxury lodges, apartments, motels, hotels and backpackers.
  • Day 2: Paihia - Kauri Cliffs, Northland

    Drive Fly 43 minutes 52 KMS 32 MI

    There are 2 options to get to your destination:

    Option 1: Private transfer from Paihia to Kauri Cliffs in around 45 minutes
    Option 2: Continue by rental car.
    Arrive at the world class golf resort of Kauri Cliffs by lunchtime and enjoy a round of golf in the afternoon.

    Recommended activities:

    Discover why Kauri Cliffs is always so highly rated.  Fifteen holes offer amazing views of the Pacific Ocean including six dramatic cliff-side holes as well as inland holes set in forest, farmland and marshland.  The course is 7,119 yards or 6,510 metres and offers five sets of tees to challenge every skill level.

    There’s also plenty to enjoy off the golf course including two astroturf tennis courts, an infinity swimming pool with spa, a fully equipped fitness centre and a luxury day spa nestled at the edge of a Totara forest.

  • Day 3: Kauri Cliffs, Paihia or Auckland

    Drive Fly 3 hours and 19 minutes 271 KMS 168 MI
    There are 3 options to get to here:
    Option 1: Return to Kerikeri Airport in the morning by rental car or guided chauffer. Fly back to Auckland and play one of the top local courses in the afternoon. Overnight Auckland.
    Option 2: Return to Paihia by road and play a local course enroute or enjoy one of the other activities in the area.  Overnight Paihia, Russell or Waitangi.
    Option 3: Drive from Kauri Cliffs back to Auckland via a round at Gulf Harbour on the Whangaparoa Peninsula. Allow a 4 hour 30 minute drive plus time for the round of golf.
    Enjoy an afternoon at one of the top courses in Auckland including Akarana, Formosa, Remuera, the Grange or Titirangi.
    Enjoy one of the local clubs at Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands

    Option 1 Auckland
    Arrive Auckland and enjoy a leisurely day exploring the CBD or head out on the water and explore one of the islands on the Waitemata Harbour
    • Hit the shops in the CBD including the Britomart Precinct and find quality local goods as well the best international brands
    • Visit the Sky Tower for stunning views.  For an adrenalin rush book a Skyjump or Skywalk
    • Learn more about New Zealand’s history and people at the Auckland Museum
    • Experience New Zealand’s marine life up close at Kelly Tarlton’s Sea Life Aquarium in nearby Mission Bay
    • For an unforgettable experience, walk the Auckland Harbour Bridge or do a bungy
    • Head out on the sparkling waters of the Waitemata Harbour from the Viaduct area in the heart of downtown Auckland.  Take a cruise, go sailing or zip around by jet boat
    • Take a short ferry ride across the harbour to the charming seaside village of Devonport.  Browse the specialty shops and cafes or walk up Mt Victoria for great harbor views
    • Head further afield with a half day boat trip to fascinating volcanic Rangitoto Island or have a full day trip to the laid back vineyards and beaches of Waiheke Island or West Auckland
    Option 2 Bay of Islands

  • Day 4 and 5: Paihia/Auckland - Taupo

    Drive Fly 30 minutes (Auckland to Taupo) 232 KMS 144 MI

    2 options to get to Taupo or Paihia:

    Option 1: Fly Auckland to Taupo

    Option 2: Fly Paihia to Auckland to Taupo

    Beautiful Lake Taupo is the largest freshwater lake in Australasia. Anglers can enjoy the nearby rivers which are internationally famous for trout fishing.  Other clients will enjoy a wide range of adventure activities, including sky diving, jetboating and bungy jumping in spectacular scenic locations.  For clients keen to relax, the area offers a number of geothermal spas and health retreats.


    Recommended activities:

    Taupo is golf heaven with a number of top courses all within 30km of the charming lakeside township of Taupo.
  • Day 6 and 7: Taupo - Napier

    Drive Fly 1 hour 41 minutes 141 KMS 87 MI

    Drive from Taupo to Napier in Hawke’s Bay in around 2 hours 10 minutes, or take a private road transfer with a chauffeur driver.

    Enjoy the next day and a half enjoying the Hawke’s Bay region.

    Recommended activities:

    Hawke’s Bay is famous for its wonderful weather, world class food and wine, stunning natural scenery and art deco architecture. ‘Must do’ activities include:
    • Go wine tasting at some of the region’s 100 vineyards
    • Taste the best local produce on a food tour of the region’s specialist food producers such as olives, cheeses, wineries and orchards
    • Mix with the locals and enjoy fresh foods at the Hawke’s Bay Farmers Market

    • Enjoying walks and the views from Te Mata Peak
    • The birdlife at the Cape Kidnappers Gannet Colony (closed during early nesting 1 July-late October)

    Experience the unique golf course at Cape Kidnappers. Designed by legendary golf architect Tom Doak, this par 71 golf course measures 7,119 yards, 6,510 metres, and will challenge golfers of all skill levels. 
    Golfers can also check out a number of excellent local club courses including Hawke’s Bay, Hastings, Maraenui, Napier and Waiunga Golf Courses.
  • Day 8: Hawke’s Bay to Auckland or Wellington

    Drive Fly 55 minutes Flight- Hawke's Bay to Wellington, 1 hour to Auckland 281 KMS 174 MI

    2 Options to get to either Wellington or Auckland.

    Option 1: Fly to Auckland and play one of the top courses in Auckland including Akarana, Formosa, Remuera, the Grange or Titirangi.
    Option 2: Fly to Wellington then drive up the Kapiti Coast to play at Paraparaumu Beach, New Zealand’s top links course.

    Recommended activities:

    Option 1: Play one of the top courses in Auckland including Akarana, Formosa, Remuera, the Grange or Titirangi.
    Option 2:  Play at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club, 45 minutes’ drive from Wellington. Regarded by many as one of the greatest links course in the southern hemisphere, Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club is set in amongst the undulating dunes of the Kapiti Coast. 
  • Day 9: Auckland or Wellington before leaving New Zealand

    Golfers might like to play a round at The Miramar Links Golf Course, right beside Wellington Airport if there is time pre departure.
