What is your favourite ‘undiscovered location’ in New Zealand? Te Anau
Why is it special to you?
This quiet and peaceful town really captured my heart the moment I arrived there. Especially in the morning, with all the fog surrounding the lake, it was really mystical and like something I had never experienced before.
Who did you travel with? I travelled there with on famil with a group of travel agents.
What is your best piece of advice for people visiting this location? Join the glow worm cave night-time tour, it was magical and a very different experience to the day-time tour. Choose a lakefront hotel to enjoy the best views in the morning.
Make Te Anau your base for an amazing adventure in Milford and Doubtful Sounds. And don’t forget to take a stroll around and enjoy the city, I am sure you will fall in love like I did.
What is the closest airport/how do you get there? Te Anau is located around 2 hours’ drive from Queenstown and there are various coach and bus options too.
