In this month's update, we celebrate a new Auckland hotel opening next month, New Zealand's fist heli-yoga experience and a new beer tour in Nelson.

New CBD Hotel

SO Sofitel Auckland is set to open 1 November 2018. The property will have 130 rooms and is conveniently located in Auckland CBD on Customs St East.

Summer operational hours at Te Puia have commenced from Sunday 30th September.


Beer exposed – from hops to handle

Wine, Art and Wilderness have launched a new craft beer tour in Nelson. Guests will visit the oldest surviving pub in New Zealand, along with a selection of other small and privately owned craft breweries.

First HeliYoga experience in New Zealand

A first in New Zealand – Reid Helicopters are now offering a Heli-Yoga experience.


New fixed departure times at Earth & Sky
Earth & Sky now provide fixed trip times. This means that customers can confirm all aspects of their tour at the point of booking.

Church of the Good Shepherd night tour

The Church of the Good Shepherd and Earth & Sky have partnered together to launch a night-time experience at the famous Takapō (Lake Tekapo) heritage site. The Church of the night tour will include the Church of the Good Shepherd tour, stargazing and astro-photography.



New astronomy experience: Opening March 2019

Earth & Sky is currently building an International Astronomy Centre on the shores of Lake Tekapo which will house the Brashear Telescope. The centre will include a world-class, interactive, day and night-time astronomy experience. Opening March 2019.
