Tourism New Zealand, with the support of Qualmark New Zealand tourism businesses, extends an invitation to you, our valued international travel trade, to experience Aotearoa New Zealand on the ultimate self-famil.

What is the Explore New Zealand Discount Programme?

Explore is a travel industry discount programme that allows you and your travel companion to curate your own Aotearoa New Zealand itinerary through discounts generously provided by Qualmark tourism businesses.

You choose when to travel (close out periods apply between December and February), what regions and operators to visit and then experience Aotearoa New Zealand at your own pace.

In this programme, we’ll be asking for your feedback on what you like and don’t like about it.

Who can apply for Explore?

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the discount programme:

• Be a full time travel seller (travel seller, wholesaler, product manager)
• Complete at least ten 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist online learning modules(opens in new window)
• Be a member of the Australian Closed Facebook Group: Australia(opens in new window)
• Signed up to receive our Travel Trade newsletter(opens in new window)

What type of discount can I expect from operators?

Discounts offered by Qualmark tourism businesses are typically free of charge, or between 30% - 50% off. Discounts are usually extended to your travel companion.

Note: The Airline offer is only available to approved Explore programme applicants. You must first apply and be approved before redeeming this offer. 

How do I apply for Explore?

Simply fill out the application form at the bottom of this page.

We recommend that you apply for Explore at least two months before your arrival date. You must book with operators at least 30 days before your arrival date.

Tourism New Zealand will review your application within ten (10) working days. If approved, you will receive a link to view the Explore Programme discounts and instructions on how to book.

Close out periods apply for travel between December and February. Travel sellers are encouraged to travel between March and November.
