Explore New Zealand Discount Programme

Tourism New Zealand, with the support of Qualmark Gold New Zealand tourism businesses, extends an invitation to you, our valued international travel trade, to experience Aotearoa New Zealand on the ultimate self-famil.

What is the Explore New Zealand Discount Pilot Programme?

Explore is a travel industry discount pilot programme that allows you and your travel companion to curate your own Aotearoa New Zealand itinerary through discounts generously provided by Qualmark Gold tourism businesses.

You choose when to travel (close out periods apply between December and February), what regions and operators to visit and then experience Aotearoa New Zealand at your own pace.

During the pilot, we’ll be asking for your feedback on what you like and don’t like about the programme.

Who can apply for Explore?

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the discount programme:

• Be a full time travel seller (retail travel agent, travel advisor, wholesaler, product manager)
• Complete at least ten 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist online learning modules(opens in new window)
• Be a member of the Closed Facebook Group for your relevant market - Australia(opens in new window), North America(opens in new window), UK & Europe(opens in new window), South East Asia(opens in new window)
• Signed up to receive our Travel Trade newsletters(opens in new window)

Additionally, you must not be travelling during the programme close out period (December to February), or be travelling to New Zealand within 30 days of application. You will be asked to specify your travel dates on your application form.

What type of discount can I expect from operators?

Discounts offered by Qualmark Gold tourism businesses are typically free of charge, or between 30% - 50% off. Discounts are usually extended to your travel companion.

How do I apply for Explore?

Simply fill out the application form at the bottom of this page.

Tourism New Zealand will review your application within ten (10) working days. If approved, you will receive a link to view the Explore Programme discounts and instructions on how to book.
