Aotearoa New Zealand Travel Update

The latest information on travelling to Aotearoa New Zealand following recent extreme weather events

 

Parts of Aotearoa New Zealand’s North Island including Northland, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland(opens in new window), Tairāwhiti Gisborne(opens in new window), Coromandel(opens in new window), Waikato and Hawke’s Bay(opens in new window) have recently suffered extreme weather events that have caused disruption.

In order to ensure manuhiri (visitors) and those making travel arrangements on their behalf – such as travel agents and travel advisors – have the information they need to plan travel to Aotearoa New Zealand, Tourism New Zealand would like to share a few key messages:

  • The majority of New Zealand is largely unaffected and is continuing to welcome manuhiri this includes most parts of the North Island and the South Island
  • Airports are open – including in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland – and airlines are operating
