Rippon, one of the World’s Best Vineyards

Rippon in Central Otago has been named as one of the World’s Best Vineyards and takes the crown as The Best Vineyard in Australasia 2023.

 

Rippon(opens in new window) vineyard (coming in at number 11 in the world) sits on the western shores of Lake Wānaka and is home to some of the region’s oldest vines. The biodynamic land has been in the Mills family for four generations, over 100 years, and is known for producing top tier pinot noir.

Frequented by locals and manuhiri (visitors) alike, Rippon Hall is the star of the property. This picturesque venue is host to many a wedding, concert, pop-up restaurant and more.

Whilst no other New Zealand vineyards made the top 50, three others
(Craggy Range(opens in new window) – Hawke’s Bay, Man O’ War(opens in new window) – Waiheke Island and Kumeu River Wines(opens in new window) - Auckland) made the top 100.

Rippon winery and cellar door is open to visitors everyday by appointment. Larger groups and private tastings can also be accommodated.
