New Zealand Traveller Declaration rolled out across the country

Cultural Performance, Rotorua

From August 2023 the online New Zealand Traveller Declaration will be available for travellers arriving at all international airports

The New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) is an online system that travellers use to digitally complete a declaration before travelling to Aotearoa New Zealand. This can be done online(opens in new window) or via the NZTD mobile app.

From August 2023, the NZTD will be available for travellers arriving into all international airports in Aotearoa New Zealand including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. Travellers arriving by cruise ship will be able to complete an online declaration from 31 October 2023.

Along with providing passport, flight and contact details, travellers will need to answer questions about customs, travel, immigration and biosecurity.

The paper Passenger Arrival Card will continue to be available for those who cannot complete it online, eventually being replaced by the NZTD Paper Arrival Form.
