Tasman Glacier Helihike now a year-round product

Based in Mount Cook, Alpine Guides and The Helicopter Line are now offering their Tasman helihiking product year round. The trip takes around 3 hours and guests spend 1.5-2 hours on the ice. Your clients will take in amazing views from incredible heights, and the gentle gradient of the glacier means people with average fitness can enjoy it too.


Southern Lakes Helicopters adds luxury helicopter to its fleet

A new Airbus EC135 P2+ has joined Southern Lakes Helicopters, boosting their fleet to 8 helicopters. Seating 6 passengers, the twin engine machine is engineered with world-class technology and is the only one of its kind operating commercially in New Zealand.

New things happening at The Rees

The hotel now has a fleet of 2017 Discovery e-bikes available for their guests to use at their leisure.  They are also leading the way when it comes to the environment, exclusively using biodegradable Aardvark paper straws as part of its green initiatives. Last but not least, they now have a permanent resident personal trainer who is on hand to run classes and offer one on one training sessions.

Millbrook goes to 36 holes

Millbrook Resort will extend its golf course from 27 holes to 36 holes to cater for the golfing tourism boom in the region. Former New Zealand professional golfer Greg Turner will design the extension.


Fiordland Outdoors Co acquires water taxi

From April 2018 the company will be taking over the Kepler Water Taxi and offering water taxi transfers to Brod Bay, about about 5.6km along the Kepler Track. This opens up the track for those short on time or wanting to take a day walk to Luxmore Hut to soak in incredible views across Te Anau.
