Whale Watch and Air NZ win industry “Oscars”

Whale Watch Kaikoura has won Australasia’s Responsible Tourism Award at the World Travel Awards, considered by many as the travel industry’s Oscars.

“We are delighted to be recognised for our commitment to providing a quality experience whilst carefully managing the use of a rare natural resource,” says GM Kauahi Ngapora.
It continues an impressive winning streak of international industry recognition it has had throughout its almost 30 years’ history. “These awards acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our team and I am grateful for this powerful acknowledgement for the service we deliver every day and the unique position Whale Watch Kaikoura has achieved globally,” Mr Ngapora says.
“To be acknowledged against the world’s very best is an absolute privilege and I am humbled to accept this award on behalf our organisation,” says marketing manager Lisa Bond who accepted the award in New Delhi, India.
Air New Zealand has been named Australasia’s leading airline at the awards for the sixth year in a row. It was also acknowledged for having Australasia’s leading lounge, at Christchurch International Airport for the second year in a row.
