**What is a Local Council exclusion zone?

no-zone-(1).JPGBelow is an example of a local council exclusion zone. All public land in the red zone is a designated “No Camping Zone” and fines will apply – even for self-contained vehicles. Maps are available online from all local council website, or they can ask at the local iSITE, or check Campermate or Rankers mobile apps.

Because of these exclusion zones, freedom camping will often mean you clients are camping quite far from the main centres. Make sure your clients are aware of this as some may prefer to book a holiday park or motel in bigger centres to be closer to action.

Outside of this red zone your clients may freedom camp on PUBLIC land, IF:

  • They have a self-contained vehicle

  • AND there are no signs expressly prohibiting it

  • AND they are parked safely

  • AND they are responsible, leaving no trace.
