By Road

Coach/Bus
Your clients can get around the South Island by coach with InterCity Coachlines or a number of other suppliers.

Driving Routes
Take the Southern Scenic Route to take in Fiordland through Te Anau, as well as Southland and Coastal Otago. This will also take clients to Milford Sound, with an option to take a different route back to Christchurch along the east coast.

Access Dunedin from Queenstown through a number of routes, although taking in Cromwell, Clyde or Alexandra is a must. Access from Christchurch however is either through an inland route or via State Highway 1 along the coast.

You can reach Alexandra airport from Queenstown, which has both domestic and international flights arriving.

Getting to and from the airport
Queenstown airport is approximately 10 minutes from Queenstown city centre.

There are various transport options available to Queenstown city centre including taxis (approx $25), a shuttle (first person $20, $6 per person thereafter), or airport bus.

From Queenstown, visitors can connect to Cromwell or Alexandra by catching a coach or hiring a car.

Getting Around Central Otago

Getting around each town centre is easy by foot. However, hire cars or motorhomes are the best way to explore the entire area.

There are also tours available to various surrounding areas and attractions and mountain bikes are available to hire for the Rail Trail.
