Here are some suggestions:

  • Day 1: Auckland

    Arrive into Auckland and enjoy a leisurely day exploring the CBD or head out on the water and explore one of the islands on the Waitemata Harbour.


    Recommended activities:

    • Enjoy a meal at the trendy Britomart Precinct or Wynyard Quarter
    • Hit the shops in the CBD to find quality local goods as well the best international brands
    • Visit the Sky Tower for stunning views.  For an adrenalin rush book a Skyjump or Skywalk
    • Learn more about New Zealand’s history and people at the Auckland Museum
    • Experience New Zealand’s marine life up close at Kelly Tarlton’s Sea Life Aquarium in nearby Mission Bay
    • Head out on the sparkling waters of the Waitemata Harbour from the Viaduct area in the heart of downtown Auckland.  Take a cruise to see whales and dolphins, go sailing or zip around by jet boat
    • Take a short ferry ride across the harbour to the charming seaside village of Devonport.  Browse the specialty shops and cafes or walk up Mt Victoria for great harbour views
    • Head further afield with a half day boat trip to fascinating volcanic Rangitoto Island or have a full day trip to the laid back vineyards and beaches of Waiheke Island or West Auckland
    • Take a guided tour of Auckland and surrounds to explore unspoilt rainforest, rugged surf beaches, unique birdlife and beautiful waterfalls
     
  • Day 2: Wellington

    Drive Fly 7 hours and 49 minutes 652 KMS 405 MI
    Today your clients will take a domestic flight to New Zealand’s capital city of Wellington. This compact capital is famous for its café culture, funky food and fashion, galleries and museums including the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.


    Recommended activities:

    • Discover New Zealand’s stories at the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
    • Enjoy 360 degree views from the top of Mt Victoria
    • Ride the historic Wellington Cable Car for city views and walk back through the beautiful inner city Botanic Gardens
    • Experience a special interest tour by local specialists including Wellington’s coffee roasters and gourmet foods
    • Taste your way around the city by visiting the diverse cafes and bars in this compact city
    • Travel back in time and experience New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna at the Zealandia Sanctuary, a 10 minute drive from downtown Wellington
    • Check out movie making magic with a behind the scenes tour of the Weta Cave in Miramar or  a Lord of the Rings location tour
    • Walk along the Wellington waterfront with its Wellington Writers Walk to scenic Oriental Bay.
    • Shop the gift shops and boutiques in Cuba Street, Wellington’s hip neighbourhood
    • Dine at one of many unique Wellington eateries, including Monsoon Poon, Charlie Noble, Logan Brown, Havana Bar and Matterhorn
    • If your clients are visiting over the weekend, make sure they check out the night markets.
  • Day 3: Wellington

  • Day 4: Wairarapa/Kapiti Coast

    Recommended activities:

    • Drive or take the train over the Rimutaka Hill to the charming vineyard town of Martinborough in the Wairarapa region.  It’s foodie heaven and so close to Wellington
    • Drive 1 hour up the Kapiti Coast and catch a boat to Kapiti Island, a special nature reserve accessible from Paraparaumu Beach
  • Day 5: Queenstown

    Today your clients will take a domestic flight to Queenstown. Surrounded by majestic mountains and nestled on the shores of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is New Zealand’s premier four season lake and alpine resort.


    Recommended activities:

    • Enjoy the thrill of jet boating in Queenstown
    • Take a cruise on Lake Wakatipu to Mt Nicholas Station or  Walter Peak Farm
    • Ride on the gondola to the Skyline complex and enjoy a thrilling luge ride or a delicious meal overlooking Queenstown
    • Grab a bike and go cycling on the Queenstown Trail – options are available to suit everyone, including electric mountain bikes
    • Grab a burger at the famous Fergburger and eat it at the lakeside, or try the iconic Botswana Butchery
    • Take to the skies by helicopter and enjoy a picnic on an alpine peak high above Queenstown

  • Day 6: Queenstown

    Today your clients will travel through to Wanaka, just one hours’ drive from Queenstown.
     
    Many attractions and adventure sports are within reach of Wanaka. Take a scenic cruise on the Lake, sample locally made exquisite wines, or fish at one of the many easily accessible spots. Alternatively, venture into the hills and mountains surrounding Wanaka. Skiing, heli-skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and climbing are all available in this area.

    • Relax at one of Wanaka’s bustling cafes, restaurants or bars
    • Throw your clients out of a plane with a skydive
    • Book a half day wilderness jet boat and helicopter adventure
    • Take a lake cruise and island walk with Eco Wanaka Adventures
    • 4WD excursion with Ridgeline Adventures
    • Take a scenic flight around the region, including to Milford Sound for a boat cruise
  • Day 8: Wanaka

    Today your clients will drive from Wanaka to Christchurch. This drive will take approximately 6 hours.
     
    Travelling through the mountainous Lindis Pass, make sure your clients stop at the scenic lookouts for great photo opportunities.
     Your clients will pass by Aoraki Mount Cook, New Zealand’s largest mountain that Sir Edmund Hillary used to climb while practicing for his trip to Mount Everest.
     
    Stop off at Lake Tekapo to see The Church of the Good Shepard, a church with arguably one of the best views in New Zealand.
     
    Depending on what time your clients arrive in Christchurch, they could take a relaxing stroll through the Botanic gardens, enjoy a boat ride on the Avon River or simply savour the city’s many pop-up bars and restaurants. Christchurch is home to a compelling mix of elegant historical buildings and contemporary culture.
